Rewrite available for Dialogue Quiz

I've marked the dialogue quiz that was given last Thursday.  If students are unhappy with their mark they will be given the opportunity to do a rewrite on Wednesday, February 27 during noon hour to make up this mark.  Students will be given their quizzes back Monday, February 25.

Romeo & Juliet

We have been watching the movie Romeo & Juliet since we have returned from winter break.  Today we have been writing down the major plot points that occurred during the film.  We will be transferring these to a plot diagram.  This is the handout that students received today in class.  We will be using this booklet to analyze what we have just viewed.

Midterm Exam Study Guide

The midterm exam is made up of two tests.  The first is a story that you will have to write by selecting from several writing prompts.  The second exam will be a reading comprehension test.

Mid-term Exams will take place during the week of January 21-25.
LA Written exam is Monday January 21, 2013
LA Reading Comprehension exam is Wednesday January 23, 2013

Happy Holidays and Updates

We have been busy this month making journals from cardboard and fabric, we will be using the journals to complete creative writing assignment and book study activities in term 2.

We have completed vocabulary #7 and have written the quiz for it this week.  Quiz marks will be posted in January.  Vocabulary #8 will continue in the new year.

We are currently watching the modern version of Romeo & Juliet directed by Baz Luhrmann.  It relates to the Renaissance unit students are studying in Social.  We will be completing a family tree of the characters, and a plot diagram following the movie when we return in January.

Today we focused on sentences in Gage Grammar.  Activities 10 and 11 were to be finished for homework if they weren't done in class.
